Joseph went to the Dallas Museum of Art a couple of weeks ago and learned about Stop Motion Animation. At the workshop, he and Cameron created a short piece. Then Joseph went to the movie workshop at the Apple Store (two days after the DMA). This is what he made today.

Volleyball Tournament and TROPHIES!
Yesterday was the final day for our Volleyball season and it ended with a tournament. The Funky Monkeys were the number one team in their age bracket going into the tournament and they finished the day in the top spot!
Here are some pictures that Alex took of the tournament.

Six Flags
You know what is great? Having a big brother that can take you to Six Flags so that your mother doesn't have to. :D
The kids each got a ticket to Six Flags with their reading program last winter. And the "teacher" gets one too, so I had one. Karise and Alex used the tickets and took the kids yesterday....and I didn't have to go!

Apple Camp
The Apple Stores have a series of kids camps that are 1 day, 3 hour long workshops really.
I would have posted about them earlier, but I signed my kids up as soon as I got the email at 10:00 at night back in June and by the next morning at 8 am they were all showing full in the Dallas area.
The kids went to their first one today and it was on making a presentation (a Mac "powerpoint") about vacation.
The kids also got a diploma for completing it, an apple camp tshirt, a poster and their presentation on a cd. Pretty awesome for FREE!
A few things were lost in the translation of converting to QuickTime and uploading to YouTube. All three of them had a short video on their 3rd slide saying how much they love Colorado and the girls had theirs put to "Our Last Summer" from Mama Mia. Both of those are gone on all of them.
They have their 2nd camp on Monday on making a movie on an Apple. There is a two camp limit per kid. That said, my kids were 3/4 of the class today.
Here are the kids at the camp today...along with one of Josh (one of the two camp counselors).

The rest of Coming Home
Ooops...that published before I was ready.
Watching the street performer...
...try to escape from Saran Wrap
Sunday was a very long 14 hour driving day and not a lot to take pictures of. But, this was just too funny to not share. The girls used their quilts several times during the trip to create their own personal spaces. ;)

Coming Home
After a clean-up and recovery day on Friday, we left for Santa Fee on Saturday. We made a couple of stops along the way at Echo Amphitheater and Ghost Ranch before arriving in Santa Fe for the evening.
We had a really fun dinner at Cowgirl BBQ where we ate outside at the Kiddie Corral and had a Dessert Baked Potato!
We had a very refreshing rain shower on Friday evening. The girls got a kick out of running around in the rain.
The kids caught some horney toads....
First stop (well, after gas and trash drop-off) was at Echo Amphitheater. There is a definite difference in the temperature and SOME of us got hot pretty quick.
Testing out the Echo (LUKE. I am your Father...ather...ather....)
From there, we went to Ghost Ranch and were deep into Georgia O'Keefe country. It is not hard to see why she was so inspired by this part of the country. It is so radically different from Colorado, but so beautiful.
The dessert baked potato. ;)
