Columbus Day in Texas

Today, Joseph started a new unit on Ecosystems and we went down to the creek to get a jar full of creek mud, plants and water to observe an ecosystem.
I can't help but remember living in Vermont and how wading through the creek in shorts in October would not have been nearly as much fun as it is in Texas. ;) I am pretty sure that by mid-October we would have put the shorts away and been wearing our GAP fleece sweatshirts.
