This summer's garden

It has been pretty dry here the last few weeks, but our garden seems impervious to that. We have water restrictions, so the most we would be allowed to water is twice a week, but we haven't even been doing that much. I go out with the hose once or twice a week and give some of the more sensitive plants a drink, but I guess we just have some good drought tolerant plants!
Here are the marigolds, goldenrod and echinacea

All of the above came back from previous years.
The new additions this year are a little garden house with various vines on it.....grape, sweet pea, moonflower and I can't even remember what else.

And this. I made a new little spot beside the shed and planted some birdhouse gourds. Then we got a letter from the HOA saying that our shed (that they approved 5 years ago) is visible form the street, so Ken put up a trellis to hide it and planted honeysuckle. The honeysuckle lasted about a month and died, but the gourd plant was very excited about the trellis. I took this picture several days ago and it has grown a ton since then.

Of course, we still have the poison ivy that comes back every year and that catches me every year.
