Little Rascals Volleyball
We went straight from Dallas Heritage Village to the girls' Volleyball game.
The girls warmed up....
Joseph was bored.
(Although Nana came to the game and that was a big surprise for him. He was very happy after that.)
Caroline was having one of those humid curly kind of days.
Libby was not feeling well and was questionable until right until the game started.
But, she made it! Both girls managed to get a serve over the net today! We are making progress!

The Park formerly known as "Old City"
We went to the Dallas Heritage Village Girl Scout Day today.
Joseph and Ken were supposed to be camping, but Ken came down with the same virus that the rest of us have passed around. Camping was out, so Joseph joined us girls.
DHV is always an enjoyed field trip. They always like seeing the old buildings and visiting with the "residents".
They had a lot of fun activities set up for the Girl Scout event (the girls were able to complete parts of badge requirements by completing the activities).
First, we made bookmarks in the church.
Then we went to the Schoolhouse and made Cat Masks.
Then we went over to the Learning Lounge and played some outdoor games.
The girls tried out the stick and hoops "catch" game. That was pretty tricky!
While Joseph tried rolling the hoop. He did get the hang of this!
We tried bubbles....
Then the girls want to try rolling the large hoop...
It was off to the Bandstand for plant collages.
Last stop was the Print Shop to make paper dolls.

The Nasher Homeschool Workshop
We had another workshop at the Nasher today (always a favorite event). First, though, we went to the "new" McKinney library (it opened last fall but we hadn't made it over there yet). The kids were very excited because we went to the library to get books for their Research Papers. They have all chosen their topics. Joseph is going to be researching "Special Effects in Early Movies". Libby is going to be working on a paper about Vincent Van Gogh and Caroline has chosen "19th Century Magicians in Europe". They are so excited about doing "research".
The exhibit at The Nasher right now is a sculptor named Jaume Plensa. As usual, the workshop was fabulous and gave us a lot of insight into this amazing artist. Here are some pictures of the works on exhibit and the kids.

Cookie making
Hunting for Eggs
The kids were so excited to hunt for eggs this morning. They were up bright and early and ready to go! Even Alex.
We started labeling the eggs with the kids' names a few years ago and it has been a great addition to the egg hunt. Not only is there no disappointment over how many they find, they end up helping each other when they find one that belongs to a sibling. Joseph is directing Caroline to some that he found behind the trellis.
Joseph is working on his mini-erector set that he found on the "egg" hunt while his giant cinnamon roll waits patiently.
