Here is Caroline's. And, yes, I KNOW that Mt. Everest is not in China. I was supposed to say Asia. :p
We ran out of memory while doing Caroline's. She got about half-way through the book she was reading. But the video is still over 9 minutes.

Caroline's end of unit project--geography
Libby's end of unit project--Geography
The girls have been studying Geography for the past few weeks. Here is Libby's end of unit project. We used the overhead projector with pictures to help cue Libby in lieu of words. ;)

I DID make the corsets!

A Twirl Skirt
Don't you love it when you spend all morning on a project (with kid input) only to have them refuse to put it on when it is finished?
Libby FINALLY agreed to put it on so I could take a picture of it. It is supposed to be Caroline's, but she is being a toot.
I have fabric to make a matching corset also. I guess I won't knock myself out though.
The instructions came from YouCanMakeThis.com

The Olympics
Today was our big Olympic day! It was complete with a torch, opening ceremonies, games, awards and closing ceremonies. Team D. had a blast!
In a circle for the opening ceremonies...
Passing the torch...
Is there more than one kind of javelin? We threw straws and swimming noodles. I am not sure what the straws represented. Spears?
Team D. looking on...
Race...
Jumping...
Posing for the mamarazzi...
More racing:
Man, she looks grown-up! That's my baby!
The traditional egg carry...
There's our horses!
Winding up for the BIG javelin throw...
Huh...that didn't go as far as we expected...
Medals...
Closing ceremonies...
One of those rare pictures where we see Joseph's eyes AND he smiles...

I am turning into slacker blogger
I KNEW I wouldn't be reliable at this! It's not because we haven't been doing anything and it's not because I don't have enough time. I am just a slacker blogger.
I won't try to catch up. I will just tell you what we have done today.
The girls have also been begging to start school so we did that yesterday. They are working on geography.
Last night, I snuck out to the Dollar Tree and bought some things to hide in the backyard (and a Snickers bar for Ken).
This morning I went out in the backyard and hid the three things and wrote down how many steps and the cardinal directions.
Then I invited my Pirate Explorers out....
Caroline is our map/instruction reader
Carefully counting out mama-sized Pirate steps (it took a few minutes to explain that pirates didn't walk heel to toe in size 13 little girl shoes :p)
The first Booty is found!
SEVENTEEN steps to the west...
West is this way...
Joseph found his (where'd that picture go?)
Next we go....south....
All the Pirates have their booties now...
Happily painting their treasures....
